Backyard Swimming with Cousins
Lucas loves to swim. It makes it even better to have good company. Lucas's cousins, Josh and Brady, come over every Monday. They all love to play outside. They especially loved swimming in the backyard blow up pool.
I could not, for the life of me, get a picture where all three kids were looking. This one will just have to do.

A Date? WOW!
Ron and I had a very special occasion last Friday. We went out on a date! It seems like dates get further and further apart when you have a child. Not that we don't love being with Lucas, but it is nice to share some alone time every once in a while. Thanks Karlee, for babysitting.
We went to the Melting Pot for dinner. It was SO yummy! We figured that we had not been there since before I was pregnant. We had the dinner for two. It came with a Wisconsin Trio cheese fondue, salads and meat. The meats that we could fondue included steak, teriyaki steak, chicken, salmon and shrimp. There were also potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms. We ended with the Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue. Yummy! The secret is to go on the website and sign up for Club Fondue and they send you a coupon for free dessert. Yahoo! I love free.
We ended the night with a movie at Brewvies. We went and saw The Hangover. Quite a silly movie.
I had a wonderful time Ron. I can't wait for our next date night!

The Master Cleanse
Because I am quite possibly crazy, I decided to do a 10 day cleanse. I really just wanted to have a jump start on trying to start eating more healthy and taking better care of my body.
I chose the Master Cleanse. Above are the ingredients that you use. Each morning you wake up and enjoy a yummy (yeah right) salt water drink. It is composed of 32 ounces of warm water and 2 teaspoons of sea salt. This is to help the system get going and clean you out. I had to force it down each time. It was not tasty.
Throughout the day you are supposed to drink 6-12 glasses of the lemonade. I got by each day with only 6 glasses. That was all I could really take. The lemonade consists of 10 ounces spring water, 2 tablespoons of pure grade B maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
Here is how my journey went...
Day 1: The lemonade is not good. First of all, I am not a huge fan of maple syrup. Luckily, pure maple syrup doesn't taste like syrup you put on waffles, so it was a bit easier to take. The cayenne pepper was disgusting. Let me remind you that I love spicy foods, but this was different. It would just sit in your throat and burn.
Day 2: I am seriously thinking that there is no way that I can go 10 days drinking this yucky cayenne pepper. Thank goodness for my cousin that reminded me that I can take the pepper pills. I have gone 1/2 day, but go directly to the health food store to buy the capsules. This is a lifesaver! Thanks, Lindsey!
Day 4: I struggle a little this day. Hunger is a bit of an issue that night. I just have to remind myself that I can do this.
Day 5: 1/2 way...Yahoo! I can do it!
Day 7: This was my hardest day. I struggled with hunger quite a bit this day and really wanted to quit. I also felt crappy and had no energy. I knew that weekends would be hard, but today was a majorly rough day! I had to give myself a big pep talk and realized that if I made it this far, I can do it 3 more days.
Day 10: Today is the last day. Thank goodness! I am so glad that I am almost done. The end is here. Yipee!
Day After: I am SO proud of myself and glad that I did this! Orange juice has never tasted so good in my life.
Surprisingly I was not as hungry as I thought that I would be. The lemonade really does help with the hunger pains. The only yucky side effect was that I had a film in my mouth that didn't go away with brushing. It is gone now.
Overall, I am very glad that I did this. I am not going to say that it was easy, because it wasn't, especially dang day 7! I lost 15.6 pounds. That is a wonderful jump start for me. I felt really good after. The whole time that I was on it, I didn't have any acne or foot pain. That was great. I have been saying over and over that I will never do it again, but maybe down the road, who knows.

4th of July Fun
Our 4th of July was a day full of fun this year.
We started the day by going to the Murray Fun Days Parade. It has been a tradition in our family ever since I can remember. Lucas had so much fun. He love the little flags that they handed out. He also loved the firetrucks, bands and of course chasing the candy.
After the parade, we were quite hungry, so we went to Wienerschnitzel for lunch. Yummy! Later in the day we had a fun BBQ with some family. After playing Lasso Golf, Lucas and Colton enjoyed taking down the Lasso walls. The food that we had was wonderful, ribs, salads, chips and dip and cookies. Thanks Terri for making such delicious food for us!
The fun day ended with us watching the Murray fireworks. Lucas was SO excited for them and really enjoyed seeing them. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday, the way it should be, spent with family.

Patriotic Toes and Cute Sleeper
I am preparing for the holiday.
Ignore my ugly feet, but look how patriotic I am. My friend at playgroup had the cutest toes and I decided to copy her. Thanks Sheena! I went to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased the stuff that I didn't have and went to work. I must say that it took me a little bit of time, but it was worth it. I am going to feel so festive with my cute toes tomorrow for the 4th of July!
Lucas loves to sleep with random things. He has always been this way. The other night he wanted to take this bat to bed. When I went in to check on him, he was peacefully sleeping and holding his bat and bear. He loves to be covered up with his Curious George blanket that Aunt Heidi gave him. He has to sleep with it every night. I am in desperate need of a cute, fun pillow case for him. Does anyone know of a place that I can buy just a pillow case and not a whole sheet set for him? He would love Mickey Mouse or Curious George.
