Adorable Little Fingernails

I painted the girls fingernails yesterday with polish called Piggy Paint. The polish is for kids, because it is as natural as mud, or so it says on the bottle.
Emrie was really good and held still the whole time I was painting and drying her nails. Eva, on the other hand, was a wiggle worm. The thing that is funny about that is they are completely opposite of that when getting their fingernails cut. Painting ended up being much easier than taking a picture. This is the best shot that I could get. Emrie has pink and Eva has purple. I love, love, love little tiny painted fingernails. They are so stinkin' adorable!

E's at Preschool

Lucas has Show and Tell at school on Thursdays. If I remember the night before, Ron and Lucas always find something to take together. There is always a theme, starts with letter _, something round, something blue, etc... Sometimes it's really tough to find something to fit into the category. Last Thursday the theme was something that begins with the letter E. Ron and Lucas went into his room and were looking. After a bit, Ron came out with the idea of taking the girls to school. I thought that it was very clever and called the teacher to make sure it was ok. Lucas was absolutely over the moon with excitement.
It was wear your favorite hat to school day. Since Lucas was wearing his Disney hat, he wanted the girls to wear theirs. We went at the very end of class. The kids were all packed up and ready to go. This is the best shot of the 3 of them that I could get. Eva wouldn't let go of my leg.
I am not sure if I have said this before, but the girls are very shy around people when they first see them. This includes people that they know and love, but just haven't seen for a while. It takes them some time to warm up. I guess that putting their hands in their mouths was something that made them feel more comfortable, because they were both doing it.

After Lucas told the everyone about the girls, the class sang a few songs for us and then lined up to go home. What a fun Show and Tell day! I am so glad that Ron thought of the idea.

Winter at Tracy Aviary

For playgroup, we went to Tracy Aviary for free Wednesday. It's not actually free, you still have to pay the $1 conservation fee. But $1 is definitely better than the regular price. It wasn't very busy and we were so lucky with the weather. Considering it was mid January, it was really nice that day.
The kids absolutely loved looking at all of the birds. My favorite are the flamingos. I love how they stand on one leg.
The kids had fun standing behind this board and pretending to be birds. After we looked at all the birds, we went into the gift shop. They have a really fun little area with a this swing, a rug, bean bags, tables and chairs. The kids loved the swing.
They also provide coloring pages and markers or crayons to use. They colored some beautiful pictures. Emrie got a little bit carried away and colored her face. Good thing it was washable marker. Emrie really loved all of the little stuffed animals that were available for purchase.

Jump Around Utah

We met our friends, Brandii and Joslynn, at Jump Around Utah.
Emrie playing Peek-A-Boo.
Lucas loved bouncing all over the place and climbing everywhere. This place was a kids dream come true.
The girls were a little bit skeptical at first, but warmed up to the bouncing really quickly.
The kids little friend, Joslynn, was a fearless little daredevil. :) She bounced and bounced. Brandii and I had fun not only bouncing, but chatting the day away. The kids were worn out by the time we left. We can't wait to go back again soon.

Fun with Flour

Lucas did a really fun activity making flour volcanoes while the girls were asleep one day.
He had so much fun, but boy was it messy. I guess the fun is all that matters, right?

Sub Zero

A group of my girlfriends decided to get together for a Girls Night Out after the kiddos had gone to bed.
Front (in white jacket) then clockwise - Jen, Jamie, Staci, Alison, Brianna, Jennifer, Brandii, Shamie, Kari, Lauren and Ashley
We met at Sub Zero Ice Cream. We had a wonderful time chatting the night away. When Sub Zero closed, five of us moved the party to Village Inn. We ended up talking until 3:00 in the morning. It was such a fun evening. I love my girlfriends!

Robot Destroyers

Lucas started a bowling league at the beginning of January. It is just a 2 person team. He goes on Saturday mornings at 9 am. They bowl two games. Ron took Lucas the first week. He was talking to Lucas and Alec about what their team name should be. They both talked about loving robots. Ron suggested Robot Destroyers. The boys were both thrilled with that name.
Lucas loves bowling.
Lucas and his team mate, Alec.
He has quite the throw. It's more like a drop and walk away. :)

Christmas 2011

We started off our Christmas holiday with celebrating with Ron's family. We went over to his sister, Lisa's, house. We had yummy food, like always. We had a huge array of appetizers. We then had a lot of fun playing some games.
The kids always have fun playing together. Their cousins, Josh and Brady, were letting the girls play with these huge Disney characters. Considering that they are obsessed with Mickey and friends, they were so happy. Excuse the messy faces. They got the stuffed characters in the middle of eating and then just wanted to play. I guess I got busy and forgot to wipe their faces. Oops!
These were the cookies and milk that we left for Santa. We took the picture after he had already drank and taken bites. Lucas told me what to say in this letter to Santa.
Santa left quite a haul for the kiddos. They had so much fun opening their gifts. Lucas ended up opening probably 75% of the girls gifts for them. Luckily, they didn't care. Next year will probably be a different story. Some of the stand out gifts that they got were: Lucas - Imaginext T-Rex, Magic Set, 2 dinosaur eggs and 2 WugglePets - Emrie and Eva - Baby dolls, doll strollers and little Cabbage Patch Dolls dressed in animal costumes. All 3 kids got Dara toddler blankets. They are the softest blankets on the planet.

Unfortunately in the middle of the night, I got the stomach flu. It started around 2 am. I was miserable! I could barely get out of bed to watch the kids open presents. I was so sad. That is also the reason that there aren't more pictures. Ron left about 10:00 to take the kids to go see his family. I slept for 5 1/2 hours. He came home and the kids played with their toys. I was actually able to finally get out of bed and come hang out on the couch. He just found canned food in the cupboard to feed the kids for dinner. :( I was going to make a nice meal, but that didn't happen. Christmas was an overall bust for me, but the kids and Ron had a great one. I hope to never be sick on Christmas again.

We celebrated with my family on December 30. For some reason, I didn't get my camera out. We had fun eating appetizers for dinner, exchanging nice gifts, singing Christmas carols and playing games. At least I was able to celebrate one Christmas.
