Pioneer Day our Way

This year our 24th of July was so nice and relaxing. We chose to spend it together, just as a small little family. We chose to go for a drive and decide what to do as we went. We went up Parleys. Of course when you go up Parleys, you have to stop at the outlets. I just ran into Gymboree Outlet really quick to buy a few things. We then drove over to Heber and had a yummy dinner at Don Pedros Mexican Restaurant. After dinner the girls were hungry, so we went to a park to feed them and let Lucas play. When we were done at the park we went and got yummy shakes at Granny's. I used to work at the one in Murray when I was in 9th grade. Going there brought back some good old memories. I wanted to take the long way home. We continued up past Jordanelle, through Kamas, past Rockport and then caught I-80 and went home.

I love going for drives. They are so peaceful and put me in my happy place. It was such a wonderful day!

Kennecott Copper Mine

Considering that I grew up in the Salt Lake Valley, I think that it is odd that I have never been to Kennecott. For heaven sakes, you can see it from space and I have never been there! Since I have always wanted to go there, I had been considering suggesting it to the playgroup moms. We just happened to be in luck, the week I was going to suggest it, was the week that it was free. Yahoo! We went up on Wednesday. It was a lot of fun, even with all the wind. Since it was free, it was quite busy. I definitely want to go back again. After going up to the mine, we went to Riverton Park for a picnic and let the kids play on the playground. What a fun day!

Random Cuteness

I found some random pictures that I had taken. I thought that they were cute and wanted to share. We had recently promised Lucas a present for a reward. He had been telling us a bunch of things that he wanted. After seeing that his little friend Parker had this bed tent, he decided that he for sure wanted it. After going to 2 Walmarts, 1 Target, 1 K-Mart and calling 3 K-Marts, I was able to find it at the K-Mart in Draper. Of course, it just happens to be the furthest K-Mart in the valley from my house. The things you do for your cute kiddos. :) Lucas loves to lay in his tent and watch movies on the portable DVD player.
The girls wear onesies to bed in the summer. I just thought that they looked extra cute in this one. Eva was a little mad and didn't want her picture taken. Emrie was just chill, like she normally is.
I was wondering who in the world could sleep like this? He is at the very top of the bed, sideways, with only underwear on and no blankets. I can't forget to mention that he decided two different socks with only underwear would be an appropriate outfit that day. Silly boy!
The girls absolutely love their Swaddle Me's! I am a huge fan of them. It is so much better than swaddling and the babies can't wiggle out. I totally believe that it helps them sleep longer. One morning after they woke up, they were being so stinkin' cute. I just had to snap some pictures of them.

Celebrating America

I know that I am really late with this post, but I was waiting to steal some of my pictures from my cute friend Beth. Thanks!

This post has quite the picture over load, but we had too much fun and too many cute pictures to not share.

Our 4th of July weekend this year was filled with so much fun!We started out with our regular tradition of going to the Murray Fun Days Parade. It was actually really cold that morning and we all ended up wearing our jackets. I would rather have it this way instead of baking in the heat like we normally do. The Jacobs Girls made this cute hat for Lucas. He loved the parade and had so much fun watching and getting candy. As you can see, the babies just had a ball. ;)
That evening we went to a BBQ at Hilarie and Jeremy's house. Thanks for being excellent hosts. It was a wonderful time! I loved hanging out with good friends. Lucas loved the water slide, bounce house and playing in the sand.
That evening everyone from the BBQ walked towards Sugarhouse Park to watch the fireworks. Lucas had a ton of fun playing with his friends before the fireworks started. Eva loved watching and Emrie slept in the stroller the whole time. Lucas even got to hold his 1st sparkler.
On Sunday, Lucas had an awesome time at the Cannon's BBQ doing the Slip N Slide.
Since the 4th was on Sunday, Ron got Monday off and we had an extra day to celebrate. We took Lucas to see How to Train Your Dragon. It was a cute movie. My parents were watching the girls, so after the movie, we met up at Fuddruckers for dinner. Yummy!

What a wonderful 3 day celebration we had! I loved the nice weather, delicious food, good friends and family.

Firsts for Lucas

We will soon be having a lot of firsts in our family and they will most be with the girls, but Lucas had some firsts recently. These times brought tears to my eyes, realizing that my little boy is becoming so grown up.He went to the dentist for the first time last Monday. I have heard that it is best to go when you are 3. Because I am a slacker, I waited until he was 3 1/2. He was such a good boy! He let the hygienist, Chelsie, clean and floss his teeth. Then he let Dr. Cannon look at his teeth for cavities. His teeth were as healthy as can be. After he was done, he got to choose a toy from the toy drawer.
Last Tuesday Lucas started swimming lessons. He loved it and had so much fun. They played swim games, blew bubbles in the water and jumped off the sides of the pool. Lucas will go every Tuesday and Thursday for 4 weeks.

A Fun Filled Weekend

Last weekend was so busy but, so much fun!First, on Saturday, we went to a neighborhood picnic. It was nice to see some neighbors that we haven't seen in quite a while and to meet some new ones. The food was yummy! There was face painting for the kids. Lucas chose a red snake. Scary! He also got to go "fishing". They were giving out real fish. After instruction from me, and lucky for us, Lucas just got swedish fish.

After the picnic, we went downtown to Mo's Neighborhood Grill to listen to my nephews, Damon and Kelby, and my brother, Shawn's, bands play. Since the show was all ages, we were able to take the kids. We hid out on some couches in a corner to try and block some of the sound. The bands, The Champion Theory and This Passing Moment, were great!

It is an annual tradition to go up Millcreek Canyon for Kelby's birthday. So on Sunday, we headed up the mountain. It was so wonderful up there! We went up to the Terraces, which is a different part of the canyon that I have never been to. I loved it up there. We had a lot of fun playing games and eating delicious food.
Happy 18th Birthday Kelby! As you can see, Lucas had a blast playing with the other kids and getting filthy! I about had a heart attack. I guess that I need to get used to having a boy that gets dirty.
