Our Christmas 2010

We had a bunch of fun filled days for Christmas this year. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday.
The festivities started off on Thursday night at Ron's dad's house. He made us a wonderful prime rib dinner with all the fixings, including my favorite fingerling potatoes. Yummy! He continued by giving us all very nice gifts. He told us of the story of giving all the kids an ornament every year and wished that we would all start the tradition. To start, he gave all the grandkids an ornament. We are lucky to have already started this tradition and will add the ornaments to the kids collection.
Ron's brother, Jared, also has a set of twins. They are just like our babies, fraternal and very different. We were happy to get a picture of the twins holding the twins. Also, Aubrey and Lucas matched like they were going to get their pictures taken. So we took a picture.
We spent Christmas Eve with my family at my parents house. We had appetizers for dinner. I dare say that there was more food than we would have even had for a regular dinner. It was delicious! We exchanged gifts and hung out. It was so nice that everyone could get together. What a fun evening.
Christmas morning brought some fun gifts from Santa. Lucas enjoyed playing with all of his fun toys and taking pictures and video with his new camera. The girls enjoyed hanging out and looking at all the new toys.
That evening we went to Ron's brother's house for Christmas with the Campbell family. We had our 2nd prime rib dinner. We enjoyed hanging out and exchanging gifts with his family. Ron was so surprised that his Mom got him a Popcorn Hour for Christmas. I think he almost peed his pants. ;)

Sorry for my lack of pictures. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I just wasn't feeling all that well during all the festivities. I had just undergone surgery on Tuesday and just wasn't feeling 100%. The pain pills were making me very nauseous. If I didn't take the pain pills, then the pain was bothering me. It was definitely a double edged sword. Thankfully Ron was wonderful through all this and took care of the kids and did all kinds of extra stuff to help out.

4 Year Photo Shoot for Lucas

We took Lucas to Fotofly for his 4 year old photo shoot. They turned out so adorable. I had to post most of them, because I just couldn't decide which was the cutest.

Incredible Christmas Party

For our playgroup Christmas party, we went to Incredible Pizza this past Friday. We were able to get some $9 certificates off Daily Screamin' Deals. That actually was a screamin' deal. It included a buffet, $10 game card and 3 attractions.
Ellie, Shannon, Camden, Sheena, Lucas, Shamie
Here we are on the Go Karts. I kicked some serious behind. The second round I wasn't so lucky. Emily blocked my roadway and wouldn't let me pass. Cheater! ;) We were having so much fun that this is the only picture I got.

We are so lucky to belong to such a wonderful playgroup. Both Lucas and I have become so close to these friends. I look forward to spending time with them every week. Thanks girls for being so great!

Breakfast with Santa - Take 3

This morning we went to breakfast with Santa for our 3rd year. This year we went up to the Davis Conference Center in Layton. My sister, Stacie, works there and had told us about the event. It was wonderful! The Expo Hall was decorated so festively.
The kids enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap. I was actually quite surprised. Neither of the babies cried. First Lucas sat on his lap and talked for a while. Santa gave him a monkey stuffed animal. Then we took a picture with the girls. Eva, of course, put her binki in right before the picture. She is such a binkiaholic, ;)
Besides a delicious buffet breakfast, they had so many activities. Lucas enjoyed getting an airbrush tattoo, writing a letter to Santa, decorating cookies and filling a treat bag with candy. They had magicians, elves and even the Grinch walking around the area. There was also some fun entertainment. We were so excited to win tickets to the zoo during the raffle.
Thanks, Aunt Stacie, for telling us about this wonderful event. We really, really enjoyed ourselves.

Girlfriends Christmas

Last night I went to a Christmas Party with a group of my girlfriends. A bunch of us met at Discover Card years ago and then we have added a few through the years. I love this group of girls. We don't see each other nearly enough. We do try and make it to dinner once a month, but we generally are missing a few. We were missing a few tonight, Nichole, Dalanie and Gina. We also missed the girls that live out of town, Cori, Amelia and Leslie.
Aarin, Meridee, Beth, Steph, Meredith, Nicole, Shamie
Mindee, Hilarie, Jeanine

What a wonderful night it was. We ate very yummy food that people brought and had fun visiting. The night ended with a very fun gift exchange game.

Gingerbread House

We decided to make a Gingerbread House this year. Grandma and Grandpa helped.
The girls were wonderful at helping and wanted to eat all of the packages. Lucas mostly loved eating the frosting and the candies. Overall, I think it turned out pretty cute!

Triple Check Up

All 3 kids went into the dr for their check ups yesterday. I am so lucky that my kids are all healthy.
The babies went in for their 9 month check ups.

Emrie is still our chunky monkey. She weighs 20 pounds 5 ounces and is in the 75% for a 9 month old, but 95% for a 7 month old. She is 28.1 inches and is in the 75% for a 9 month old, but 95% for a 7 month old.

Eva continues to be the skinny mini. She weighs 14 pounds 15 ounces and is under the 5% for a 9 month old, but 15% for a 7 month old. She is 26 inches and under 5% for a 9 month old, but 15% for a 7 month old.

Dr. Wirkus was impressed by their growth, eating habits, sleeping schedules and their 8 teeth each!
Lucas went in for his 4 year check up. He weighs 38 pounds and is in the 50%. He is 40 inches tall and also in the 50%. The dr gave us the option of him getting his kindergarten shots at this appointment. I guess it's a new thing that they can get them as early as 4. They also gave us the option to split them up between this appointment and his 5 year. We decided to just go for it. He was SO brave! He did not even cry. They gave him a Popsicle, book and sticker for being so good. I am so proud of my big boy!

Captain Sham Wow

Lucas decided that the Sham Wow makes a great Super Hero cape. Along with his apron, I think he is ready to fight some crime.

Jaeger Family Christmas

Every year we have an extended family Christmas party with the Jaeger family, my mom's side. We had so much fun this year. Thanks to Ashley for hosting a wonderful party!
Here is most of the family. By the time I decided to take out the camera, some people had already left.

The kids all sat on the floor and either played their Nintendo DS's or watched someone who had one play. The simple pleasures of being a kid.
Of course, we had delicious food. What a fun night!

Happy 4th Birthday Lucas!

Lucas had an excellent 4th birthday. He started the day with opening his first present from us. It was a Diego Field Journal. He had been asking for one for about a month. He has never asked so much for something before. Luckily we were able to find a used one on ebay. (Since they stopped making them in 2008!)
For lunch he decided that he wanted a Happy Meal from McDonalds. Yummy. (Sarcasm!) That night we had a family party. Lucas had so much fun playing with his cousins. We ate delicious bbq beef sandwiches with yummy salads. Lucas received a bunch of really nice presents.
This year the cake I made for him was a Go Diego Go cake. It was my first try at a multiple layer cake. I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks to Karlee for helping make and color the frosting.

I can't believe that my little boy is 4! He is growing up so fast. Time really flies!

Playgroup Birthday Party

Lucas had his playgroup birthday party today at Classic Fun Center. The kids had so much fun. They all played on the bouncy toys and climbed in the jungle. We all ate pizza and popcorn and drank soda.
All the playgroup friends, cousin Anna and friend Ally.
My mom came and helped. Thanks Mom! The babies also had a lot of fun looking at all the sights and listening to the sounds. It wore them both out and they slept for a little bit.
After climbing and playing, Lucas opened his presents. He got so many fun things. The kids then played the arcade games. They all won tickets and got little prizes. Thanks friends, for coming to the party and for all the nice gifts!

Christmas Village and Maddox

I have been wanting to take Lucas to the Christmas Village in Ogden for the last two years. We finally got the opportunity to go last night.
Lucas had a blast looking at all the little buildings. He especially loved the ones where Diego was skiing and the Grinch was hanging upside down in jail. The girls were really good sports. They were all bundled up and just hung out in their stroller. We were lucky that it was not too cold when we got there. By the time we left, Emrie was not a happy camper that her nose was cold. I can't wait to make this an annual tradition.
Ron and I always go to Five Alls for our engagement anniversary, December 6. This year we decided to mix it up and go a few days later and go to Maddox up near Brigham City. We hadn't been there for a while. After the Christmas Village, we dropped off the kids to my sister's house in North Ogden and headed up to dinner. As always, it did not disappoint. What a nice date night. Thanks, Fischio's, for babysitting.

Bouncy Bouncy

Apparently bouncing is hard work!
Emrie was so tired after bouncing that she fell asleep in the Jumparoo.

Radio City Rockettes

Today my family had a girls day and went to see the Radio City Rockettes. All the girls in my family came, except the babies. Soon they will be big enough to come too.
Some of us went to lunch at Chili's before the show. Yummy! I always love their food. We then met the others at the Maverick Center. It was my mom, Stacie, Suzie, my nieces- Angelina, Sabriya, Olivia, Anna and myself. It was a wonderful show. I have always wanted to see them. I am so excited that they had a touring company that came to Salt Lake City this year. What a festive and wonderful way to start the holiday season!

Sitters, Megamind and Snow

Today is the day that I can say both of my girls are official sitters. Yahoo! Emrie has pretty much been sitting since October 30 and she is just getting more and more stable. Eva sat today for quite a while. She wasn't sitting before because she is so wiggly and wouldn't stop moving her legs. Today she actually kept them still and sat so good. I have always said that I think it will be easier to have twins when they can sit, play with toys and entertain each other. I am getting really close to that step.
Cute little sitters!
On Sunday, we took Lucas to go see Megamind. Thanks to McDonalds Happy Meals, he had been asking us about the movie for a long time. I figured since we didn't know anything about it, we should probably go. Ron looked up the movie time and accidentally found us the 3-D movie. I was worried. I thought Lucas would have a hard time with the glasses, but he did awesome. I am not sure what kind of faces he was pulling in each of these pictures. ;) Thanks to Shawn and Suzie for watching the girls!
That same day, we woke up to this. I was really surprised that there was so much snow, considering that it was the first snow fall of the season. Tonight there is a blizzard warning and it is supposed to dump inches and inches on us. I think that I will stay inside and cozy up with my slippers and some hot chocolate!

Jungle Jim's Playland

Last Friday, we went to Jungle Jim's Playland for the first time. We went for Riley's birthday party. He is a little friend from playgroup.
Lucas had a blast riding all the rides. We ate yummy pizza and Riley's mom, Sandi, made a delicious cake for the occasion.
The girls had so much fun taking in all the colors and noises of the rides. Emrie got a little scared of the roller coaster. It was really loud. They got so exhausted that they took a nap while we ate lunch. I can't wait until they get big enough to start doing fun things like this.

Real Life Pizza Planet

Last Tuesday night, Ron and I took Lucas on a date night to Incredible Pizza. That place is so much fun! Lucas is so cute, he calls it Pizza Planet. What a smart little guy to see the similarities between the two. (If you know anything about Toy Story, then you know Pizza Planet.)
We had so much fun riding the Go-Karts, Mini Bowling, playing fun arcade games, letting Lucas ride the small rides and eating the yummy buffet.
I think it's important for Lucas to have Mommy and Daddy time without the girls. He really enjoyed the evening. We can't wait for our next little date.

Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the babies.

Too Young to Date?

My cousin Courtney is a nanny for this cute little girl named Ally. She is 3. We decided to set Lucas and Ally up on a date. A play date that is! We met at the Living Planet Aquarium yesterday.
The kids got along really well and had so much fun. The babies also loved the aquarium. They hung out in their stroller and looked around. One of my favorite exhibits was the penguins. I could sit and watch them all day. After the aquarium, we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. I always love eating there. Yum! I especially love that they have the peppermint chocolate chip shake for the holidays. If you haven't tried it, I strongly suggest it.
Eva decided that she wanted to try and feed herself. She stole the spoon from me and was doing it herself. She loved it and actually did a pretty good job.
Emrie is always smiling. She even likes to smile when her mouth is full of green beans and rice cereal.

Congratulations Damon and Sarah

Last Wednesday on November 10, my nephew, Damon, got married to his cute girlfriend, Sarah.
The newly married couple.
It was a wonderful day. We started out waiting outside the temple for them to be married. We hung out for pictures. After that, my sister and brother-in-law hosted a yummy luncheon at The Athenian restaurant. The food was delicious! We had either cheese stuffed chicken or chicken kabobs with a salad, lemon rice and pita bread. The dessert was baklava.

Their reception was at the Davis Conference Center in Layton. It was beautiful. I am SO mad at myself for not getting a picture of my little family in our change of clothes. We all looked adorable and matched the wedding. I am hoping to get a copy from someone else that might have gotten our picture. When I do, I will post it.

Damon and Sarah were so cute and loving. They were so happy to be married and just kept hugging each other and kissing. I am so happy for them to start their life long journey together!

Out of Pocket already fulfilled? Whew!

We spent the evening in the ER tonight. I was hoping that I wouldn't ever have to go there for this reason. While I was in the kitchen feeding the babies, Lucas came in. He had his fingers in his mouth and had throw up on his shirt. I asked what was wrong. He told me that he had a penny in his mouth and now it was in his throat. We had just been working on what coins are what type this week. So I knew that he was for sure it was a penny. We hurried to the ER at IMC.Here he is in comfy clothes waiting for the Dr to come in.
Here are the pictures from the x-ray. As soon as the x-ray tech took the first picture, he said, "Yep, there it is!"

Luckily it is not stuck in his esophagus and is now in his stomach. The Dr informed us that he will eventually pass it. Yucky!

Happy Halloweek!

We had a week full of Halloween activities. So we have decided to rename it to Halloweek. Sunday we got the kids Halloween pictures taken. For some reason, blogger won't let me upload them. If I figure it out, I will put them on. Tuesday was the Halloween party for Lucas at preschool. Wednesday we went to the Hanuted Trail. Thursday I had the Witches Tea.Friday we had a Halloween party for playgroup. We decorated pumpkins, made ghost suckers, trick or treated and ate a yummy chili lunch. What a fun time. I always love our playgroup holiday parties.
Saturday was Brady's 5th birthday. He had a Halloween/Mickey birthday party. It was so much fun. The kids decorated trick or treat bags, decorated pumpkin sugar cookies, played and ate jack-o-lantern pizza. Lucas dressed as sorcerer Mickey for the party, since it was Mickey themed.

That night we had our annual soup Halloween party with the Campbell family. Of course, there was wonderful food. Yummy butternut squash and Mexican corn chowder soups, along with chili. The kids then went trick or treating.
On Sunday, we went trick or treating at the Treat's house. Colton was dressed up as a scary pirate.
We then went over to my mom and dad's for cheesy potato soup. Lucas played with Sabriya, Olivia and Anna.

What a fun and eventful week. Now onto the Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
