Wonderful Family Time

On Friday Ron just skipped work and we had a family day. Ron never does this, so I was so excited!
We started off the day by going swimming at Murray Park. We stopped by McDonalds to grab lunch. While eating it on the lawn outside the pool, an ABC4 news anchor came up to us and asked if he could interview us about the flooding this year. We told him that Ron probably shouldn't be on the news since he had skipped work that day. We all laughed about it. So funny! How often do you get approached to be on the news? Of course it would be the day that Ron had skipped work.

This is the first time the girls had ever been to a pool. They love the bath, so I figured that they would love the pool. Emrie was really hesitant at first, but once she got used to the water, she loved it. Eva was a huge fan right from the start. Lucas has always loved swimming and continues to do so. He especially loves going down the waterslide by himself.
We ended the evening with a date night. Ron and I don't get out very often by ourselves. Thanks to my parents for watching our kids and letting us take an evening "off".

We started out by heading to my favorite restaurant Five Alls. The food is delicious. I did take the pictures of our meals, but of course they don't look quite as appetizing as they did when they first came to the table. Trust me though, they were absolutely delicious!

After dinner we headed over to Pioneer Theater at the University of Utah to see my favorite play, Rent. This was Ron's first time seeing it. It was my 3rd. As always, it did not disappoint.

What a wonderful day. We need to somehow become wealthy without having to work. Then we would be able to do things like this every day. :)

Twenty Five Dollars

Lucas is so stinkin' hilarious. He seriously cracks me up every day!
Ron and I have this running dialogue that we say to each other. If we really don't want to do something, for example, change a baby diaper, get our own glass of water or pretty much are just being lazy, we generally say, "I will give you $25 if you do this for me." Sometimes the amount varies and if we really don't want to do it, sometimes we offer $1,000,000!

Lucas has caught on to this and now when he wants something and we say no, he says, "Please! I will give you $25!" It is so cute. If we do it, we always ask for the $25. He just looks at us and laughs. I love my little buddy so much! I love that he brings laughter to my life on a daily basis.

We Love Our Dads

We had a great Father's Day.
We started the day by taking Ron's Dad to brunch at Cheescake Factory. We were going to go up to Snowbird for the Father's Day BBQ, but the dumb weather made us have a change in plans. I am so sad that we couldn't make it up. What a great morning, with great conversation and great food.

After that we went home and let the girls take a nap. Ron also took a well deserved 3 hour nap. I got my long nap on Mother's Day and he got his on Father's Day.
On the way to my parents that evening, we went and looked at the rising river in Murray Park. It is getting pretty high. We would normally have a BBQ with my Dad at his house, but once again, the stupid weather changed our plans. My Dad chose Italian Village. Yummy!

What a great Father's Day. I am so lucky that Ron is such a wonderful daddy to my kiddos. They are so lucky. Happy Father's Day Ron, Don and Papa Ron!

1st Popsicle

Yesterday my mom decided that she wanted to let the girls eat their first Popsicle. I was very hesitant. If you know me, you know that I am not a fan of my kids having dirty faces and bodies. My mom assured me that she would give them a bath after they finished. So I let her. That's what grandmas are for, feeding your kids things that they shouldn't be fed.
The girls were in heaven. Eva was such a dainty little eater. Emrie got done with hers and tried to steal Eva's, so she got a purple one to eat also. They are so lucky to have a grandma that lets them do things that I wouldn't.

This is the Place Party

We went to a party for RCC on Saturday. They have a party every year for past patients. We love this office and are so grateful for them. Without their assistance, we wouldn't have our beautiful little girls.

The party was at This Is The Place Heritage Park. We had so much fun. We were even able to meet up with a few of our friends who have also been patients there.
The train ride was a lot of fun. It took us on a tour of the whole park.
Lucas had a blast playing at the children's play area. He also got to go on a pony ride. He is so funny and seriously cracks me up. When the pony started walking he said, "This is really dangerous!"
The girls had a lot of fun riding around in the stroller. They especially loved riding on the dirt road and over some bumps. Emrie was laughing and laughing when we drove over bumps that shook her.
When we left we were able to get a family picture in front of the monument. I couldn't tell on the small screen of the camera that Eva was hiding. What a fun day. We can't wait for next years party.

Awesome Bags at Hogle Zoo

Last Tuesday I took the kids to the zoo. It was quite the accomplishment for me to take them somewhere like that by myself.
I met up with this awesome group of moms that I met online. We all belong to this fun group that has one thing in common... We all love finding wonderful shopping deals on items for our kids. We especially are in love with Ju-Ju-Be and Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags! As you can see in the picture, we all have fun diaper bags hanging on our strollers. I loved the group shot that we were able to get with us a most of our kids.
I wasn't very good at taking pictures. I thought that I had one of Eva, but as you can see, she looked away when I snapped the picture. Lucas was having a ton of fun. At the end he got a little bit tired from walking around the zoo and got grouchy. At that point, I asked him if he was ready to go home. He told me yes. That never happens. So I figured it was time to take off.

What a wonderful day with my new friends. I can't wait to meet up again.

Happy 30 something Birthday To Me!

I know that I should maybe be sad today. I am now in my upper 30's and can no longer say I am closer to 30 or even at the 1/2 way to 40 mark. I am not sad though. I have had a wonderful birthday today!

Ron took the day off, so I was able to spend today with my adorable little family.
I started off the day with sleeping in. We then headed to Utah County to go to one of my favorite restaurants, Magelby's Fresh. They have these stuffed bread sticks that I am in love with. Yummy!
After lunch we headed to Orem to go to University Mall. I did a little shopping, which I always love. I found some excellent deals for the kids. We let the kiddos play at the Tree House play area in the mall. They had a blast. Emrie is getting so good at walking. That is the reason for the blurry picture of her. I couldn't get her to stop walking to take a picture. Eva crawled all over the place. She kept trying to crawl around the corner and into the restroom. Gross! Lucas made a lot of little friends.
I am always up for a drive, so we took the long way home. We went up Provo Canyon and stopped at Bridal Veil Falls. Lucas loved the falls and the river. I kept a tight hold on him. I was freaked out by the fast moving water. We just stepped out of the car for the pictures, because the girls were fast asleep.
After we headed back into the Salt Lake Valley, we met my parents for dinner at Asian Potato. We had never been there, but I have wanted to try it. It did not disappoint. It was delicious! I think it will be our new Asian restaurant of choice. To make it even better, it is pretty inexpensive.
I loved my fortune. I am not sure if any of you have played the "In Bed" fortune game. Well, you are supposed to read "in bed" at the end of your fortune. So my fortune turned out to be "A small lucky package is on its way to you soon in bed". I just had to ask Ron if his "package" was small. Ha Ha! I guess I was tired, because I thought I was hilarious.

So far, being closer to 40 isn't so bad. I am so lucky to have been able to spend my birthday with people that I love. Happy Happy 36th Birthday To Me!!

Kung Fu Panda 2

On Tuesday we went to see Kung Fu Panda 2. It was my niece, Olivia's, birthday. We all really enjoyed the movie.
I am in love with their soda machine. There are like 100's of options with all of the soda and flavorings. We got a yummy grape Sprite.
We also got Milk Duds. Remind me to sneak them in the theater in my purse next time. Holy Cow! They were $3.75. That is ridiculous!

After dinner we went to Chili's and then back to the Jacobs house for cake and ice cream. What a fun day. Thanks to my mom for watching the girls while we were at the movie!

Happy 9th Birthday Livy! We love you!
