Lagoon - It's What Fun Is

Lucas and I were able to go to Lagoon with Suzie and my nieces, Sabriya, Olivia and Anna. We left the men and babies at home.
It was pretty hot when we first got there, but ended up being wonderful weather.
We went on a bunch of rides.
One of the highlights of my day was when Suzie took the kids to go on spinning rides that I didn't want to go on. I sat in a chair with a Coke in hand for 1 1/2 hours and people watched. It was so much fun. WOW! I am getting more and more like my mom every day. I remember when we would go to Lagoon as kids, my dad would take us on rides and my mom liked to sit and people watch. :)

What a fun, fun day! Next year we may even consider taking the babies and men. ;)

Happy 40th Suzie

August 14 was my sister-in-law, Suzie's, birthday. We had a fun weekend celebration with her. We stayed up at the Holiday Inn Express in Park City.
On Saturday we went shopping at the outlets, to the Smurf movie and to dinner at Red Rock. The kids had fun playing on the deer statue after dinner.
The next morning we went to the Park Silly Sunday Market. Then we headed over to the Park City Mountain resort. Ron, my mom and the babies hung around and waited for us. They went on the carousal.
We went on the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. It was SO much fun. That coaster is amazing! I got going pretty fast and had to slow down a little, because it was really, really fast. Lucas loved it! He is such a little dare devil.
Our cute little family after a day on the slides/
We went to Baja Cantina for dinner. Lucas looked adorable in the birthday sombrero.
Happy Happy 40th Birthday Suzie! You don't look or act a day over 39. Ha Ha! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you.

Highland Splash Park

A couple of Fridays ago, we went down to Highland to play at the splash park there. What a fun, fun place. I wish that there was one like that closer to our house, but it was definitely well worth the drive.
Lucas was in the water the whole time that we were there. He had a blast! I am pretty sure that he would have stayed there all day, if I would have let him.
Emrie also loved the water. Other kids were pouring water on her head and she didn't even care. She loved playing with the fountains that shot out of the rocks.
Eva took a little bit of time getting used to the water. It was pretty cold and considering that she doesn't have any fat on her body, she was pretty chilled. As you can see from the picture, her lips were even a little purple. She had a bunch of fun though.

We were there for about 3 hours and could have spent a lot more time playing. We can't wait to go back.

Ju Ju Be - Be Mine 1st Aid Kits

I decided to make First Aid Kits for our cars and bags that we carry. I started out with purchasing Ju-Ju-Be bags. The name of the bag is a Be Mine. They are normally for small wallets, but they work great for this. I then went to the store to purchase everything for the inside.
Everything laid out and ready to get started.
All of the items that go inside of each kit.
How everything is packed on the inside.
All packed up and ready to go.

I feel so prepared. I actually already used a few BandAids from one of the kits.

We have a Climber

Emrie has started to climb a lot. It makes me very nervous.
She just recently learned how to climb up on the couch. Then she climbs onto the back of the couch and sits by the window.
She is so proud of herself when she does it. Too bad that Mommy is having a slight heart attack every time!

Thanksgiving Point Farm

We braved Thanksgiving Point's $2 Tuesdays and met some of our friends at the farm. It was a little busy, but the only time it was an issue was when we were waiting for the pony rides.
We had fun on the tractor wagon ride.
The kids loved all of the animals!
Lucas ended up in jail. Oh no!! He loved the pony ride. I can't wait for the girls to be able to ride the ponies next year.

I am sad that we forgot to take a group shot. It was a hot, but fun day!

Jacobs Family Fun Day

On August 7 we had a fun party at my parents house with the Jacobs family. We were sad that Damon and Sarah weren't able to come. My mom planned out such a fun day.
It also just happened to be my parents 44th anniversary and Shawn and Suzie's 18th anniversary. My parents provided yummy food throughout the whole day. We started with bagels and fruit for breakfast. For lunch we had yummy deli sandwiches with some fun sides. Dinner was delicious with hamburgers, hot dogs and appetizing sides. We ended the day with my favorite cake, Red Velvet.
The kids had a ton of fun playing in the 2 pools and sprinklers.
We had a lot of fun playing games that my mom had planned. Snowball fight, bean bag toss, Kub and more. We had Popsicles for a mid-day cool down. We had a lot of fun just hanging out. Eva got to taste her first beer. Just kidding! We are not that white trash. It was just rootbeer.
We filled up 500 water balloons. I became quite the expert filler. We played some fun water balloon games and then had 2 major water balloon fights. It was so much fun.
What kind of day would it have been without having messy baby faces?

What a fun, fun day! Thanks Mom for planning such an amazing day.

2nd Annual NICU Reunion

On August 6, we went to our 2nd NICU Reunion at IMC. It was much different this year. I am now a volunteer and I love it. I have put in a lot of time to help get this reunion ready. I spent the first 1/2 of the evening busy with my volunteering. Ron brought the kids to meet up with me after my shift.
The theme was Toy Story. The kids loved seeing the characters. While eating dinner, we enjoyed seeing a magic show, hearing the characters sing and watching a slideshow, which the girls happened to be in.
Eva and Emrie had fun hanging out in their stroller. They especially loved the boxes of crayons that they got.
Lucas had a bunch of fun. He got to see the rescue vehicles, listen to story time, learn about the NICU from nurses, play games and win prizes.

What a fun evening. I can't wait for next year when the girls can actually participate in all the fun.

We Love Spaghetti

We love spaghetti at our house. It is my go-to meal when I can't think of anything else to cook. We all love to eat it in different ways.
Eva, the dainty one.
Emrie, the extremely messy one.
Lucas, the also messy one? How did he get so messy?

I had to work this night. Ron left the room for only a few minutes to come back and find spaghetti everywhere. He said it was all over the kids, on the floor and even some on the walls. Lesson learned....when feeding the kids spaghetti, don't leave the room!

Nature's Backyard Pool

A few weeks ago it rained really hard. The drains all started to back up and my parents yard turned into a swimming pool.
By the time I got Lucas from summer camp and we went back over there, it had gone down a little bit. He still loved playing and jumping in the water. What a dream come true for a kid, one giant puddle. I am happy to say that luckily, the water didn't get high enough to flood the basement. Thank goodness!

Bear Lake

At the end of July, Ron and Lucas went on a vacation to Bear Lake. Originally the whole family was going, but then we decided that camping with the babies would be much too hard and no type of vacation for Ron and I. They went with some of the Campbell family. Ron's mom, sister Lisa's family, sister Kristy's family, brother Ryan, sister Kacee and her boyfriend Zach.
They had a ton of fun. They played a game of Survivor. Every family had come up with fun games for the adults and kids. Ron and Lucas won gift cards to Kneader's and In N Out. They loved going out into the middle of the lake on the boat and swimming. Lucas really enjoyed being pulled on the tube behind the boat. He absolutely loved playing in the sand and in the water. He is our little fish.
Lucas really enjoyed getting dirty. Ron would text me these pictures and it would stress me out. I told him that it was probably a good idea that I wasn't there. ;)
They had a wonderful vacation. The time away was definitely hard, but I am sure more enjoyable than if the girls and I would have gone. Ron and I had not been apart that long since way back when we were dating. We all can't wait for next year when the girls are bigger and we can take them.

Backyard Camp Out

On July 24 we had a big backyard camp out at my parents house. It was with our family, my parents and my cousins Terri, Lindsey, Karlee and Colton. We started the evening with a yummy bbq.
Lucas, Colton, Emrie and Eva had a ton of fun playing in the tent after it was set up. When it got dark, Ron took the babies home to sleep in their cribs. The rest of us played in the yard with glow sticks instead of sparklers. Then we sat on the deck and watched the fireworks across the valley. Lucas and Colton had fun wrestling with Terri on her air mattress. Lucas was completely worn out from having so much fun and was asleep in about 2 minutes.

This was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again. I am excited for next summer when Ron and the babies can join us.

Happy 40th Stacie

On July 10 we went up Millcreek Canyon to celebrate my sister Stacie's 40th Birthday.
We did hobo dinners and everyone brought side dishes. It started raining when we had been there for about an hour. It just wouldn't let up. It wasn't necessarily cold, it was just really wet and muddy.
Everyone had their jackets on and we were all trying to get under umbrellas or the canopy.
We had a ton of fun, but definitely didn't stay as long as we would have if it had been good weather.

Happy 40th Birthday Stacie! Here's to many, many more.

1st Do it Yourself

I have been wanting to make a fun chair for us to use at our computer, since we moved. We had been using one of the chairs from our table. Each time we ate as a family, we would have to move it into the kitchen. What a pain. I had been looking at the DI and had done some yard sale drive bys. One morning I was heading out to get breakfast for us at Carl's Jr and I happened upon this beauty at a yard sale. OK... I know it's not beautiful now, but just wait.
I took the cushion off and started by priming the chair. Next I painted it this fun, bright lime green. I finished off by covering the seat.
And here it is. I actually love how it turned out! Some people don't have a love for the chair, but I sure do.
I am normally not a creative person. I am so excited for my first do-it-yourself. Yahoo!!
