Free Slurpees

We headed to 7-Eleven on July 11 for free 7.11 oz Slurpees.  YUM!

We walked with my mom and all got our free Slurpees.  It was so hot when we walked there, so they tasted deliciously cool.  The kids were so excited for their Slurpees and I was excited that they were free.  Oh the little things in life to make me happy.  :)  We are going to make this a fun little tradition.

Mountain View Park

We went to Mountain View Park with some friends for a playdate.  This park is new.  It just opened in May.  They have a really fun splash pad and playground.  There are a few drawbacks of the park... Since it is brand new, the trees are small so there is very little shade.  It is also the only park of it's kind in the area, so it is very busy. 

The kids loved playing with their friend, Lily, and other kids that they met at the park.  We ate a picnic lunch and let the kids run around the splash pad.  We didn't stay for a really long time, because it was blazing hot that day, but for the short time we were there we had a lot of fun.  We will be going back for sure.

Super Hero Wedding

On July 7, my cousin, Rachel, had a Super Hero themed wedding.  They had sent out Save The Date cards a few months ago.  On the card it stated to come in costume.  This way everyone had time to prepare their costumes.

 I was so excited.  I love having an excuse to dress up.  My mom and I made the tutus for all of the girls.  I made the symbols.  My parents found the Spiderman costume for Lucas while out on their search for their costumes.  I thought that we looked like an adorable little Super Hero family.

 This is the whole wedding party.  The bride, Batgirl, and the groom, Green Lantern, are in the front with the rest of their Super Hero wedding party behind them.

 The bride and one of her bridesmaids posed with the girls.  So cute!  Big and mini Batgirl and Robin.  The cake was so neat and fit right in with the theme.  They had Fire Dancers for entertainment.  It was so much fun to watch.

My brothers family made their Incredibles costumes.  So cute!  My cousin, Becci, was Poison Ivy.  We grew up together.  My parents were the scary Evil King and Queen.  I did my mom's make up.  I am no make up artist, but I thought it turned out pretty good.  Rachel made most of her Batgirl costume.  The only part she didn't make was the chest.  She is so talented. 

What a fun, fun night!  It's not every day that you get to go to a Super Hero themed wedding.  I am so glad that we got the opportunity to attend. 

T-Ball

This is the second year that Lucas has played T-Ball.  I actually think that I may have forgot to blog about it last year.  :( 

His team was the Rangers.  I just love this little picture of him with his sports picture pose.

This is his team.  His coach is in black and the assistant coach is in blue.  A few of the kids are going to his same elementary school this year.  Maybe they will be in his same class.

This is the trophy is got on the last day.  He loves getting the trophies.  Unfortunately, he told us several times through the year, that he didn't like T-Ball and doesn't want to play again next year.  I am pretty sure it was because it was super hot for several of the games.  Next year when sign ups roll around, I will ask him if he wants to play.  Even though I will be sad, if he doesn't want to play, I won't make him.

A Week of Staycations

Ron is required to take a 2 week block off work due to banking rules.  Since we still had a week left of his vacation after St. George, we decided to do a bunch of staycations. 

We started off the week by heading to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point.  This is one of the places that we have wanted to head to since Lucas has become obsessed with dinosaurs.

The kids had a lot of fun with the activities and looking at all of the dinosaur skeletons.  One my my favorite parts was when the kids got on the scale to see how much they weighed compared to a dinosaur.  Combined, they only weighted barely over 100 lbs.

 On Thursday, Ron, Lucas and I went to see Brave.  We left the girls at my parents house while we were gone.  When we were leaving, they were looking out the window at us.  I don't think that they seem very sad that we were going.

We enjoyed watching the movie and munching on some popcorn.  It wasn't my favorite Disney movie, by far, but it was cute enough and the main character is adorable.

After the movie, we headed up to Park City with my parents.  We stopped and did some shopping at the Tanger Outlets.  There were some pretty good deals.  While Ron and I were finishing up a little bit of shopping, my parents took the kids to the playground.  They were so happy to play.  Every time we go up there, they ask to stop and play on that playground.

After the outlets, we headed to Baja Cantina for dinner.  There was a bit of wait, so the kids had fun playing on the stairs outside.  Lucas had fun making friends with the hostess.  After a yummy dinner, we went over to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and my parents bought the kids each a chocolate covered Oreo.  Mmmm!

We bought the Pass of all Passes this year that gets us into Seven Peaks Salt Lake for free.  On Friday we headed that way.  It was pretty packed, so we only stayed for a few hours.  It seemed like a great amount of time though.  The kids had so much fun in the kiddie area, lazy river and wave pool.

 

 To end our week, we headed out to Copperton Township and went to the park there.  It was so much fun.  For quite a while, we were the only ones there.  The kids loved the swings.  I am so happy that Emrie is no longer afraid.  After the park, we went to Chili's at Jordan Landing.  It was not a good experience.  The service was horrible and extremely slow!  On top of that, the girls were definitely not being angels.  :(

What a wonderful week of staycations.  Each year when Ron is off for his 2 weeks, we get very used to having him around.  I was really sad to see him go back to work on Monday.

Loving Our Independance

I love the 4th of July!  Such a fun holiday.

This year I wanted all of us to dress with a patriotic outfit.  The only thing I was able to talk Ron into wearing was a blue shirt.  I was happy to get at least that out of him.  :)  I thought that we turned out looking super cute.  My mom and I made the dresses for the girls.  I am so happy to have such an amazing mom that helps me with all of my sewing projects.  We are a good team.  I cut and iron.  She sews. 

We always start out the day by going to the Murray Parade.  I have been going all my life, so it is a tradition.  The kids had so much fun watching it and gathering all of the candy.  We started our second tradition a couple of years ago, to eat lunch at Wienerschnitzel.  Yum!

After the girls had their naps, we headed over to my parents house for a barbeque.  My parents, my brother's family and the Treat's were there.  We always have such a fun time with these people.  The kids played in the water and then we had a yummy bbq dinner.  Since the kids had woke up early for the parade and the fireworks are so late, we decided to take the girls home for bed.  Shawn and Suzie took Lucas with them to watch the show.  Thanks guys!  I can't wait until our fun day next year.  I am already thinking about outfits to make for the girls.  Mom, make sure your sewing machine stays warmed up and ready.  He he!

St. George 2012

We head down to St. George every year for about a week.  We normally go around my birthday.  This year we pushed it back to the end of June because Ron's Dad's family was having a Campbell family reunion.

We found a hotel that we really like staying in.  The rooms are big enough to fit us and all of our stuff.  The pool is nice.  We were able to get some really good swim days in.  The times we went to the pool, we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves.  Yahoo!  The kids love to swim!

We made it over to St. George Town Square one day after eating lunch at Judd's General Store.  We started off with going on the Carousel.  Emrie was not sure at first, but once it started, she loved it. 

The Water Walk is so much fun.  They have waterfalls, rivers and fountains.  The kids had so much fun.  We could have stayed all day.  Ron and I were lucky to find a nice shady spot with a table and chairs.  We enjoyed watching the kids play.  The girls really enjoyed eating their suckers that we had bought at Judd's.

Lucas had so much fun floating things down the river, running around and splashing.

We had been wanting to try this Greek restaurant, Basila's, the last several times that we have been down there.  We were happy to finally make it there.  It was a bit pricey, but the food was amazing!

Swig is one of my new favorite places down there.  We just learned about it last time we were in St. George.  It is this little walk up/drive through that has a variety of drinks, cupcakes, brownies and the best sugar cookies ever.  We went almost every day that we were there.  YUM!  Now that I am thinking about it, I am craving a cookie.

Since Ron's Dad was down there for the reunion, we were able to meet him and Kelli for dinner at The Patio.  We had never been there and thought that we would try it out.  It is an old Sonic that has been converted to a restaurant.  On Friday and Saturdays, they have a seafood boil.  That is actually why we went.  The food was yummy.

On Saturday, we headed over to the Campbell Family Reunion.  It was held at Ron's uncle, Don's, house.  He is Ron's Dad's twin brother.  He owns a home in St. George that is beautiful.  There weren't as many family members there as hoped, but it was really nice to meet the ones that were there.  The food was amazing and it was a fun day.

That night for dinner we went to Don Pedro's.  Because we had so much yummy food at the reunion, Ron and I weren't very hungry.  Ron decided to just get something small off the ala carte menu.  When they set this Chalupa in front of him, we both started to laugh.  It was huge! 

What a fun, relaxing and wonderful vacation.  We can't wait to go to St. George again.

Eva's Art

This isn't a very good picture, but I wanted to showcase Eva's art.  She thought it was a good idea to use our wall and two doors for a canvas. 

As much as I thought that it was beautiful, thank goodness for magic eraser.

We Heart Dads

For Father's Day this year, we headed up to Snowbird for their annual Father's Day BBQ.  We have come to love this tradition.  Ron's dad couldn't go with us, so it was just our little family.  The ticket includes all-you-can-eat bbq and a tram ride.

 

I thought that this family picture at the top of the mountain turned out so cute, even if it was windy. 

The parking lot was so much less crowded, because there wasn't skiing this late this year.  I was so happy.  We got a pretty close spot, but the shuttle driver stopped and asked if we wanted a ride.  The girls were so excited to get on a bus.  

 

The BBQ was yummy, as always.  I actually ate a rib.  If you know me, you know that I do NOT eat meat off bones.  So this was a huge step for me.  I must admit, it was actually quite tasty.  We found the perfect table in the shade.  If it had just been Ron and I, we could have just sat there all day.  It was so peaceful.  Lucas was very excited to ride the tram though.  So we headed up the mountain.  The views are always amazing from up on top. 

That evening we went to dinner with my parents to Bohemian Brewery.  We sat outside on the patio.  I was so happy to spend some time with my Dad on Father's Day.  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful, supporting Dad.  He loves my kids so much and they absolutely adore him.

Because of missing Ron's Dad on Father's Day we were going to take him to dinner.  Because of timing, we haven't gotten to it yet, but we will soon.

Adorable Piggies

I just love these little toes.  I was painting my toenails and the girls wanted theirs done too.  They turned out so cute.  I think that we will have a lot of painted toes around here this summer.
