Iron Maiden: Flight 666

As most of you know, Ron is a HUGE Iron Maiden fan and has been since he was a teenager. He is even a member of the fan club. When he found out about this movie, he was so excited! He was especially happy when he found out that it was going to be playing in Salt Lake. As soon as they were available, he purchased our tickets.

Last night Ron, Ryan (Ron's brother), Shawn (my brother) and I went to go see the film. It was about a documentary crew that followed Iron Maiden around on the 1st leg of their Somewhere Back In Time Tour. Also, as most of you know, we made a little family trip to Phoenix last year to see this tour. It wasn't coming to Utah, so we had to travel to see it.

This band is amazing! They bought a plane, Ed Force One, which is named after their "mascot", Eddie. It was completely redone to hold all of their stage equipment and instruments. They did this so that they could travel quickly to all the tour dates. Even more amazing is that the lead singer is the pilot of the plane. This leg of the tour took them from India, Australia, Japan, North America, Mexico, South America and a few in between.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Slowly but surely, Ron is turning me into a true Iron Maiden fan.

Mall Fun

Playgroup was so much fun yesterday. We went to SouthTowne Mall. We were able to do so many activities. Hot Dog on a Stick was our place of choice for lunch. It was very yummy.
Lucas riding the cat on the Carousal. Peek-A-Boo!
Lucas and Garrett in the dino bones at the little dinosaur playground.
Lucas , Ellie and Garrett on the quarter rides in the hallway.

Even though there were only three of the seven kids at the mall today, it was still a blast. We are so lucky to belong to such a wonderful playgroup!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! It started out with Lucas seeing the Easter Bunny at the mall. To my surprise, he actually liked him. I thought that he was going to scream bloody murder, but he was as happy as can be. We chose to forgo the tradition of dying eggs this year. I was just too much of a chicken. I thought that with a wild 2 year old little boy, it would be way too messy. We will do it next year.
Lucas woke up in the morning to find that the Easter Bunny had left him a big basket with a lot of goodies. He was so excited!
Here is our official Easter picture this year. Not the greatest of them, but still cute. Lucas is currently obsessed with building houses out of his big blocks. So, as you can see, the blocks are in the picture with us.

I hope that everyone had a fun and wonderful Easter!

Happy 6th Anniversary to Us

Ron and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary on Friday, April 10. We both agree that the time has flown by. It seems like we just barely got married. We decided to have an early weekend getaway with a jaunt up to Logan. We ate at two really yummy restaurants for dinner. We went to Coppermill and Hamilton's. They were both excellent.
One night we stayed at the Logan Anniversary Inn in the Joanie's Diner room. It was amazing! The theme was the 50's. The room was huge! It just kept going and going. Here are a few pictures of the room. Above is the diner area. It was decorated with a jukebox (which had free music selections), bar with stools, Betty Boop, a telephone booth and more. The room came with hot dogs and chips, banana splits, free soda, sparkling cider and cheesecake.
This is the living room/bedroom area.
OK... I normally wouldn't put a picture of the shower on here but, this shower was amazing! It had a waterfall head, two side sprayers and a had held sprayer, plus it was huge. I really want this shower in my house. There was also a huge 2 person jetted tub.
The other night we stayed at Seasons at the Riter Mansion in the Master Suite. This is an old mansion that has been converted into a little bed and breakfast. They had the best breakfast! It was apple pancakes with a side of bacon and fruit. They gave us the recipe for the pancakes and we want to make them. Yummy! The room was nice with a huge tub and a shower.

While taking baths, we figured out the secret to having Hollywood bubbles. You put the bubble bath in and then turn on the jets for a minute. Beware, you will be drowning in bubbles! It was so much fun.

Happy Anniversary Ron! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. Thank you for being the best dad ever to our son. I can't wait for several more exciting years together.

We Got Toilet Papered

So it might not be the same thing that you think of when you imagine toilet papering...

Lucas took it upon himself last night to be so helpful and unwrap almost all of our toilet paper rolls. We buy it at Costco, so they come individually wrapped. This is just a little sample of the artwork. He had also put rolls in his bed and in our mini fridge. I don't think that anyone would want to wipe with a roll that came from the cold fridge. Brrr! Just for good measure, there are shoes and some toys in there. I guess this is what you get when you leave a 2 year old boy unattended for a few minutes.

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Norris

My really good friend, Jeanine, got married this past weekend. We are so happy and excited for her. Congratulations Jeanine and Nick! Just remember my advice. ;)

A Whole Ice Cream Cone?

We went to Jason's Deli for dinner tonight. We really like to eat there. I love the Club Royale and Ron loves the muffalettas. We all love the broccoli soup. I highly recommend it.

If you have been to Jason's Deli, you know that they have free ice cream cones. You make them yourself. After we were done eating, I made Lucas a small swirl cone. He ate the whole thing, ice cream AND cone! I couldn't believe it. He is such a big boy to eat all his dinner and then eat a whole ice cream. It was really cute. He loved it!
