As most of you know, Ron is a HUGE Iron Maiden fan and has been since he was a teenager. He is even a member of the fan club. When he found out about this movie, he was so excited! He was especially happy when he found out that it was going to be playing in Salt Lake. As soon as they were available, he purchased our tickets.Last night Ron, Ryan (Ron's brother), Shawn (my brother) and I went to go see the film. It was about a documentary crew that followed Iron Maiden around on the 1st leg of their Somewhere Back In Time Tour. Also, as most of you know, we made a little family trip to Phoenix last year to see this tour. It wasn't coming to Utah, so we had to travel to see it.
This band is amazing! They bought a plane, Ed Force One, which is named after their "mascot", Eddie. It was completely redone to hold all of their stage equipment and instruments. They did this so that they could travel quickly to all the tour dates. Even more amazing is that the lead singer is the pilot of the plane. This leg of the tour took them from India, Australia, Japan, North America, Mexico, South America and a few in between.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Slowly but surely, Ron is turning me into a true Iron Maiden fan.

I can't say that Ron ever turned me into an Iron Maiden fan, but I think it's fun that you guys got to go the concert and see the film. Now that all of Ron's dreams have come true, what's next?
